Employment Termination Notice Letter Due To Redundancy

According to Cambridge Dictionary, "redundancy" is a situation in which someone loses their job because their employer does not need them. Example: The takeover of ABC Limited's factories at Mumbai by JKL Limited is expected to result in over 5,000 redundancies in workers.

Due to redundancy, an employer can terminate the employment of any employee whose position is not required anymore. Therefore, the employer needs to issue a termination notice to the employee in this regard. Some countries have specific laws with regard to termination of employment due to redundancy and redundancy pay.

Please refer to our discussions with you during our meeting on (Date). As informed to you, the senior management is considering certain organizational and operational changes after taking into account various business aspects.

Because of these proposed changes, we would cease business operations at (Location) in the area of (Product/Services). This decision forces us to reduce the number of certain staff members.

Unfortunately, this means your position will be made redundant as we no longer require it to be performed for our organization. Please understand that there are no suitable redeployment opportunities available in our organization. Hence, we regrettably confirm that your employment will be terminated effective (Date) due to redundancy.

As per your employment contract with us, you are entitled to a notice period of 30 days. You are required to work during your notice period and complete necessary separation formalities. You will be paid the full and final settlement amount including any pending salary and other entitlements in the next payment cycle.

You are required to return all properties of the company that may be in your custody/possession viz. computer, documents, materials, vehicle, intellectual property, and any other confidential information. You can give it to your reporting officer i.e. (Name).
