Most of the rent agreements carry a clause on the schedule of rental payment viz. monthly or quarterly due dates.
If the tenant does not make the rental payments on time, then it will be a breach of the terms of the rental contract. In which case, the landlord can issue notice and force the tenant to vacate the property immediately.
In case, you have delayed in making the rental payment. Then you should apologize to the landlord and arrange to make the payment at the earliest. You may pay the rent first and then apologize.
Here are formats of apology letters and emails to the landlords for late rent payments.

As explained to you earlier, our company is going through some financial crisis lately. We do not have any major project right now, which has caused such a distressful situation. However, there are some good projects in discussion. Hopefully, they will materialize in the coming days.
